Dogs learn all their lives. Here a 9-year old Vizsla female is enjoying her newly learned agility skill: jumping over obstacles. She also beceme crate-trained at 9 years old, learned good manners, off-leash reliability and lots of obedience skills. It is never too late to train a dog. Absolutely! I bet you've heard the saying "You cannot teach an old dog new tricks", but this saying is a MYTH. It is simply not true. Dogs do learn ALL their lives (just like us humans) and they do live in a moment. They can always learn. Of course, the sooner you start training and conditioning your dog the better, but if you have a dog that's older, he/she will enjoy getting some mental stimulation and learning new things. 9+ year old canine graduate of FINE-TUNED CANINES Board and Train dog trianing program. Older dogs can learn too and they benefit from mental stimulation. It keeps them happy, fulfilled and young.

We've worked with dogs of various ages and various backgrounds. Some were shelter and rescue dogs that had some pretty bad experiences in life. They lacked manners, skills and experience and most importantly they did not know HOW to learn. Not only they've learned HOW to learn, but also learned how to ENJOY the process. Thanks to that, they've learned a variety of experiences even though they were mature dogs and even though they had to unlearn a lot of bad habits.

We've worked with dogs that were way past their puppyhood and that started their education with us as late as at over 9 years of age and did a fantastic job.

Here's on of the adult canine students that was trained by FINE-TUNED CANINES: a Bichon Frise male. At the time he started training he was 7 years old and had no previous training (he knew how to sit). This little guy blossomed and discovered how much fun learning was. It gave him extra confidence too. The movie clips below show what he learned in less than 2 weeks during our Board and Train dog training program for dogs in Florida. Now that's a "boot camp" that is FUN!
